Strays Online

Today's webcomic review will be: Strays Online !

Status: Ongoing
Updates: Every Friday

What's it about?

Well it's basically about this young orphaned girl named Meela and this mute bounty hunter named Feral. As Meela struggles to survive on her own, trying to find food to feed herself everyday and make herself her own house [unsuccessfully might I add] she incidentally encounters Feral in one of his missions. After the encounter, Meela forcefully joins Feral, despite his desperate attempts to get rid of her.

The truth about Meela's parents' murder and Feral's past remains a mystery, and Meela's frequent dreams about a boy who looks like her makes everything even more mysterious. There are some hints and indications that Meela and Feral's past may be connected somehow.

The story's still a little bit vague at the moment, and it could get a bit tiring to wait as the story develops very slowly, specially with just a page a week, but it's definitely worth reading. It's pretty intriguing in its own way and the art is simple but pretty amazing and consistent. You can definitely tell that each page was done carefully and the artists definitely don't slack off in quality!

My Rating:

Story: ★ ★ ★
[It's still vague so I can't make up my mind about it yet.]

Art: ★ ★ ★ ★
[The art is just gorgeous... The reason I keep checking each week!]

This webcomic is one of the first webcomics I followed. To tell you the truth, I don't even remember how I found it. I've been viewing it for probably 3-5 years now. It used to update 2 times a week, I think tuesdays and thursdays, but now they update every friday because of their busy schedule. This webcomic must be one of the most active webcomics I've ever come across, but not in the way that they always update on time or there's always something new in their site. In fact, because they're so busy, they sometimes miss updates.

So what are they busy about anyways? Selling actual printed copies of the comic.

I find it kind of rare for webcomics to be printed and sold, most of them really just stick to the web format. It's also kind of cool that they have these comic conventions [Otakon] that they attend in to sell their comics and promote their comic. It's not widely sold yet like how you used to see W.I.T.C.H comics or etc. in those magazine racks in bookstores, but in the direction they're going, I bet they'd be in a couple of years. XD
